Since our establishment in 2000 we have successfully commercialised technology and unlocked safety and environmental solutions that benefit society. This in close collaboration with customers and partners such as European Space Agencies, Space & Defence contractors, Defence Agencies (Military) Police, Ministries, Cities, Consulting & Engineering Firms and Corporates. Our headquarters are in Delft, The Netherlands, and we have two satellite offices in Oslo (Norway) and Rome (Italy) with 125 experts employed at S[&]T.

About the founders

S[&]T was founded in 2000 under the name Science and Technology BV by Carina Maas, Erik Zoutman, and Andre Bos. Throughout their extensive careers at TNO, Carina, Erik, and Andre held various roles, including calibration specialist, project manager, program manager, and senior researcher. In these capacities, they gained valuable knowledge and experience in the development of innovative satellite instrumentation.

Thanks to their close collaboration with the European Space Agency and related European system integrators, they have built an extensive network within the international space industry over the years. Anticipating the growing number of satellite missions and the associated significant increase in raw satellite data, they founded S[&]T. This addressed the growing need for the processing and interpretation of this valuable data. Due to their expertise and, equally important, their personalised approach, they have managed to grow S[&]T into a successful enterprise over the years.

Bart van Mierlo, formerly the Head of the Semicon Equipment Department at TNO, joined as co-owner of S[&]T in 2008. Within the company, he successfully established and expanded the High-Tech Consulting division. This division focuses on Space and other innovative High-Tech organisations.

In 2021, Roland Hooghiemstra became a co-owner. Due to S[&]T's substantial growth, Roland assumed the position of CEO in 2019, taking on the responsibility for further international expansion and professionalisation of S[&]T. The S[&]T founders since focus on the development of new ventures.
