We are currently looking for a AIT Engineer to join the team in Leiden.
As an AIT Engineer, your job will focus on the assembly, integration, and testing of high-tech space components, with a strong focus on solar arrays for space missions. You will work according to detailed technical manuals and work instructions to ensure all systems meet the strict quality standards required in the space industry. In addition, you will perform verification and acceptance tests, contribute to documentation, and support the development of new solutions and integration tools.
You will be part of a hands-on, innovative team working in a high-precision environment where accuracy and a structured approach are essential.
Please note that this is a temporary position until the end of 2025. Extension is possible but not granted. We accept freelancers for this role.

Main responsibilities
- Assemble and integrate high-tech space products, such as solar arrays, in accordance with technical instructions.
- Execute verification and acceptance tests to ensure correct integration and functionality.
- Document your work accurately for traceability and quality assurance.
- Support the development of test setups and integration tools used in space system validation.
- You will need to travel for business, ranging from a few days to several weeks.
Requirements
- Hands-on assembly experience with precision mechanical components.
- You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Preferably experience working in cleanroom conditions.
- A strong affinity with space systems or aerospace applications.
- Meticulous, structured work approach, with a proven ability to follow procedures.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel abroad for short (a few days) or extended (several weeks) business trips.
