We are currently looking for a Design & Analysis Engineer to join the team in Heerle.

As a Design and Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical and thermal design of our products and systems.

You will work closely with the project core teams to guarantee the quality of our products, providing them with an initial mechanical design of the product or system that considers the mechanical and thermal design requirements, as well as manufacturability.

You will conduct structural and thermal analyses, and proactively suggest improvements based on the outcome. Additionally, you will participate in environmental testing and the subsequent analysis of results to confirm that the product meets the environmental standards.

Design & Analysis Engineer

Main responsibilities 


  • Create the mechanical design of the product.
  • Evaluate requirements, particularly concerning the environmental conditions in which the product will operate.
  • Create 3D designs in accordance with statements of work.
  • Generate BOMs and other relevant project documents.
  • Design (test) tooling and fixtures as needed.
  • Conduct detailed structural and thermal design analyses.
  • Offer input for design improvements to ensure that the requirements are met.
  • Provide expert advice on mechanical and/or thermal design to the project core team.
  • Lead failure analyses, root cause analysis, and design of experiments to solve engineering challenges.
  • Prepare test and result analysis documentation.

 


Requirements


  • Master’s Degree or equivalent education in mechanical engineering or (aero)space engineering.
  • +5 years of relevant experience in design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Extensive knowledge of FEA analysis tools, preferably FEMAP and ESATAN.
  • Hands-on experience in structural and thermal testing and corresponding results analysis.
  • Good understanding of common construction materials used for propulsion systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (C1). Conversational Dutch is an advantage (B1).
  • Experience in the spaceflight industry, preferably as a satellite equipment supplier and familiarity with ECSS standards and manufacturing processes are a plus.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel.
