Job details

Dynamics and Control Specialist

Main responsibilities

  • You will process modal analyses to predict dynamic behavior.
  • You will derive conceptual lumped-mass models of mechanical systems, will develop input-output models from lumped-mass models, and relate derived models to Finite-Element predictions.
  • You will utilize dynamic models for error budgeting.
  • You will conduct frequency response measurements and other system identification techniques.
  • You will read and interpret Bode and Nyquist diagrams, both predicted and measured, and link details of them to actual physics and mechanics.
  • You will apply the essentials of linear control theory and controller synthesis.
  • You will synthesize reliable controller structures using loop-shaping techniques based on experimental data.
  • You will assess the closed-loop behavior of the entire system.
  • You will work hands-on in the lab with various sensors, actuators, and real-time control systems.

Requirements

  • You hold a Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • You have at least one year of experience, either in the high-tech industry or in academia.
  • You have experience validating dynamic performance.
  • You have an understanding of frequency response measurements and other system identification techniques, as well as experimental modal analyses.
  • You are familiar with eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes of mechanical structures.
  • You know how to process modal analyses to predict dynamic behaviour.
  • You can read and interpret Bode and Nyquist diagrams, both predicted and measured.
  • You are familiar with control engineering technology.
  • You know the essentials of linear control theory and controller synthesis, both in the classical and mathematical sense.
  • You can analyze data in terms of frequency, create effective controller designs using loop-shaping methods based on experimental data alone, evaluate how the entire system behaves in response, and understand dynamic error budgeting techniques.
  • You have experience working with many different type of sensors, actuators and real-time control system.
  • You are a team player.
  • You have good English communication skills
