We are currently looking for a Flow & Thermal Scientist to join the team in Delft.
In this position, you will be integrating an expanding team working with Semicon equipment and metrology technology, supporting the development and improvement of manufacturing equipment.

Main responsibilities
As a Flow & Thermal Scientist, you will be challenged with translating customer needs into simulation models, test setups, and experimental test programs.
Within the team, you will be one of the technical experts responsible for developing the team’s knowledge concerning interactions between flow, contamination/particle transport and thermal effects. By using your theoretical knowledge and experiments, you will improve your understanding of these processes and formulate innovative solutions that will be shared and discussed with the customers.
Aligning your expertise with your leadership, you will also lead the team in simulating, preparing, executing and analysing tests related to gas and particles using vacuum systems.
Requirements
- Master or PhD, preferably in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent and similar field
- 5+ years of experience in a position related to thermal modelling, flow, and/or vacuum science. Previous experience in applied physics is a plus
- Experience with data analysis, especially with Python, MATLAB, or MathCad
- Experience with CFD or DSMC
- Pragmatic experimental mindset and creativity to develop new solutions
- Capacity to work in an R&D environment
- Experience leading teams
- Customer-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills
- Fluency, both written and spoken, in English
