FPGA Intern
Delft
Full time (40 hours per week)
Junior
About this job
We are currently looking for an FPGA Intern to join the team in Delft.
You will be working within the Defence & Security business unit, where we are working on innovative solutions that leverage space technologies. One of the most exciting trends in satellite Earth observation is the demand for real-time information from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Applications include critical use cases such as wildfire detection, maritime security, and flood monitoring. To detect these events, satellites rely on various instruments, one of which is the Hyperspectral Optical Imager.
Hyperspectral imaging captures more than 100 spectral bands per pixel, covering electromagnetic wavelengths from approximately 400 nm to 2500 nm. This results in an immense amount of data for each observation. However, due to bandwidth limitations, it is impractical to transmit all this data to Earth. As a result, satellites must process this data onboard and transmit only the relevant insights—such as detected events—to ground stations.
