We are currently looking for a Junior Test Engineer to join the team in the Leiden Area.
As a Test Engineer, you will join a team focused on the design, development, and integration of advanced electronics systems for the international space industry. The projects involve satellite simulation and testing solutions, including Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), TTC and TM/TC systems, RF and optical modems, and data processing platforms. The position supports the full life cycle of product testing—from development and integration to post-delivery analysis—within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Junior Test Engineer

Main responsibilities
- Execute testing activities at Module (PCB), Sub-assembly, Unit, and System levels using defined procedures
- Perform system-level integration and maintain configuration control
- Develop and validate automated test scripts using Python
- Troubleshoot hardware and system anomalies both pre- and post-delivery
- Design and implement test setups and environments for current and next-generation products
- Clearly document test environments and configurations
- Translate technical requirements into actionable test procedures in collaboration with HW/SW engineers
- Prepare detailed test reports and assist in the creation of delivery data packages
Requirements
- MBO level 4 in electronics or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (HBO)
- Practical experience with standard electronic test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators, waveform generators)
- Familiarity with RF systems is considered a plus
- Experience in setting up and maintaining automated test environments is advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail, team-oriented, proactive, and hands-on approach
- Demonstrated ownership of assigned tasks and activities
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English
