Main responsibilities
As a Mechatronics Engineer - Smart Industry, you will collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement opto-mechanical and mechatronic prototypes and instruments for companies in the Dutch manufacturing sector. The focus is on advancing production robotization and integrating digital product design through concepts like 'Zero Programming.' Additionally, efforts centre on in-line measurement and control to achieve 'zero defects' production processes. You will complement your colleagues' optical and mechanical designs with expertise in sensors and actuators. With a strong passion for hardware, you will frequently work in the lab, building and testing the systems you design. This role involves working independently within a structured team environment, often managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements
- You hold an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- You bring practical experience in (3D) robot vision, visualization, and robotics, with familiarity in ROS, control systems, programming, and task/event handling
- Knowledge of Machine Learning is a strong plus
- You have a keen interest in industrial production processes
- You are proficient in Python, C/C++, and embedded software development
- You are adaptable, communicative, proactive, and fluent in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- You are creative, immensely curious about the latest developments and comfortable with the uncertainty that often accompanies the complex scientific and engineering issues you will be working on
