We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team in Leiden.

The Quality Assurance Engineer is essential in managing and monitoring the quality processes during production, including handling quality reviews and supplier issues/non-conformities. You will be responsible for monitoring materials for defects, resolving quality issues, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to enhance product quality. The Quality Assurance Engineer will report hierarchically to the Head of Quality & HSE.

Quality Assurance Engineer 

Main responsibilities 

  • Process Monitoring and Control:
    • Monitor and control the correct execution of processes and procedures during product production.
    • Report results and signal deviations through Non-Conformance Reports.
    • Initiate, organize, and supervise the handling of deviations and propose solutions that meet quality requirements.
    • Check production processes and, if necessary, suspend work to ensure adherence to specifications.
    • Approve production-related drawings and documents to meet quality process requirements and signal deviations.
    • Monitor and control the resolution of inconsistencies or deviations.
  • Supplier and Production Reviews:
    • Perform supplier delivery reviews (DRB).
    • Execute Manufacturing and Test Reviews (MRR, TRR, PTR).
    • Prepare the End Item Data Package (EIDP).
    • Organize and chair the Non-Conformance Review Board (NRB).
    • Update configuration documentation such as CIDL and ABCL.
  • Quality Reporting and Inspections:
    • Prepare reports based on quality metrics and tools and present them to Product Assurance or the Head of Quality.
    • Perform inspections on supplier-delivered parts and in-house produced assemblies.
    • Perform final inspections on finished goods at various levels (Airbus NL, customer, supplier) according to project-specific standards.
  • Safety and Communication:
    • Assist the safety officer with monitoring and follow-up on safety-related incidents or improvements.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to handle deviations and stop the production flow if necessary.
    • Communicate with suppliers and customers to coordinate work, identify deviations, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.

Requirements

  • Education: MBO+ / HBO
  • Technical background
  • Hands-on experience
  • Good communication skills
  • High work motivation
  • Ability to understand technical documents (drawings)
  • Proactive attitudeProficiency in English, both written and spoken
