We are currently looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the team in Maassluis.
As
a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of a team of 6 Embedded Software
Engineers where you contribute to the development of a platform based on the
Linux OS for a Robotic Platform. You will closely collaborate with Electronics
and Robotic Applications Engineers with the common aim of continuously
improving software development practices and products

Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Main responsibilities
- You will support the platform approach.
- You will manage the maintenance of existing common software components.
- You will tackle platform architecture and software requirements, cybersecurity, design, implementation, and testing.
- You will engage with different software communities (e.g. Linux) while looking for new technologies in the market.
- You will share your knowledge with team members and coach them.
- You will boost cooperation with development partners in Europe.
- You will use
Agile methodologies in your day-to-day, such as Scrum or Kanban.
Requirements
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- You have at least 5 years of experience with Linux OS
- You are experienced in Linux kernel development (configuring, building and debugging the kernel)
- You have a deep understanding of real-time Linux kernel (PREEMPT_RT), as well as experience in developing and optimizing real-time systems.
- You know how to work with hardware architectures (e.g., x86, ARM…) and their impact on kernel development.
- You have experience in scripting and programming languages such as C, C++, Bash, and Python
- You have knowledge of object-oriented software and test-driven development (TDD)
- You have worked with networks and protocols (e.g. CAN, Ethernet)
- You have experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams
- Good communication skills in English; Dutch language skills preferable but not necessary
