About this job
We are currently looking for a Technical Application Manager GDN to join the team in Utrecht.
As a Technical Application Manager, you will work both from the office in Utrecht and remotely to maintain and improve the GDN infrastructure and supporting applications. You see applications as services that should be deployed as efficiently as possible, playing a key role in application selection, setup, and automation.
Your role involves designing application setups, defining requirements, integration with authentication systems, and managing the application lifecycle. You document this in Confluence and coordinate with your team and end-users. Installations are automated using Puppet or Ansible, ensuring uniformity, reproducibility, and technical documentation within GitHub. You will also integrate existing applications into this framework while performing Life Cycle Management (LCM) tasks for underlying operating systems.
A typical workweek includes daily stand-up meetings, managing tasks in Jira, analyzing and resolving incidents, and ensuring the performance and availability of applications and infrastructure. You also handle large dataset archiving on tape storage and contribute to infrastructure projects, such as implementing a new GIS infrastructure. Additionally, you support Scrum and DevOps teams when they encounter infrastructure-related challenges.
You will be part of the Platform Team, a group of ten professionals within the Geo-IT department. The team includes specialists in databases, security, and architecture, offering a collaborative learning environment. If you enjoy complex technical challenges and want to make an impact on the future, this is the role for you!
